The Los Angeles Lakers will arrive at the Frost Bank Center on Saturday to face the San Antonio Spurs in an NBA Emirates Cup matchup. The Spurs (6-6) are 10th in the Western Conference, while the Lakers (7-4) are sixth in the conference standings. Check out our match prediction below. 

The San Antonio Spurs have been notably better this season and are now gunning a third straight victory after beating the struggling Washington Wizards 139-130 in midweek. 

Victor Wembenyama was an absolute colossus in that match, posting 18 of 29 shooting, including eight from beyond the arc to finish with a whopping 50 points.

The Spurs are now 22nd in the scoring charts, putting up 109.8 PPG, but their major strength has been in defence where they are ranked fifth, allowing just 109.2 PPG.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers are also enjoying an impressive run of results, now on a three-match winning streak after downing the Grizzlies 128-123 on Thursday. 

LeBron James had arguably his best outing of the season, posting a triple-double of 35 points, 12 rebounds and 14 assists, while Anthony Davis backed him up with 21 points. 

The Lakers are now the sixth-highest scoring team in the NBA this season (117.6 PPG), but they are 24th in terms of points against, allowing 117.5 PPG.
