The San Antonio Spurs will attempt to put an end to their losing streak when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. Victor Wembanyama scored 30 and added 13 rebounds in Thursday’s loss to the Lakers. The rookie is San Antonio’s leading scorer and is averaging 19.3 points a game as well as 10.7 rebounds. Keldon Johnson scored 28 against the Lakers and the two should combine again to spearhead Spurs’ charge.

The Los Angeles Lakers want to solidify their position in the top six. They know very well that they cannot afford not to win against a team that has been one of the league’s whipping boys. Davin Ham’s men got back to winning ways two nights ago and will be eager to get on another winning streak. The Lakers have won five of their last six matches. Thursday's win over the Spurs improved their record to 15-10 and left them four games behind conference leaders Minnesota. Leading scorer LeBron James, who is averaging 25.3 points a night, was forced to sit out Thursday’s game due to a calf issue. It was only the second time that he has been absent this season and both times it was due to his calf. Friday’s injury report is yet to be released so it is unclear whether James will be available. Anthony Davis, who is averaging a double-double with 23.9 points and 12.5 rebounds, led the Lakers to victory on Thursday, tallying 37 points.
