The San Antonio Spurs will play their second game of the new NBA season against the Houston Rockets. The Spurs sit 12th in the West standings ahead of the Rockets who have played twice and are 15th. Here’s our prediction for the match.

The Spurs are coming off a 120-109 loss on the road in Dallas. That was their third successive loss, having suffered defeat in their final two pre-season games.

Gregg Popovich’s men had one of the worst records last season and lost 60 of their 82 outings. The Spurs do not have a large injury list as only Devin Vassel will miss this fixture.

Victor Wembanyama, who scored 17 points against the Mavs, is available and so too are new recruits Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes.

The Rockets bounced back from their opening-day loss against the Hornets by thumping the Grizzlies at home.

Ime Udoka’s men earned a 128-108 victory over Memphis which should have given them enough confidence to seek another win here. Houston have won the last three matchups with San Antonio.

Jalen Brooks led the Rockets against the Grizzlies with 22 points. The guard is averaging 25 points. Dillon Brooks put up 18 points but he could be absent for this trip as he is listed as questionable on the injury report.
