When a player is seeded 11th and up against an opponent ranked outside the top 50, you'd expect the seed to win, right?  Well that's not the case here Pablo Carreno Busta has a battle on his hands against the lower ranked Sam Querrey. Busta owes his high ranking to his good form on clay, not on grass.  If the seedings were based on ability on grass, Busta wouldn't be anywhere near as high, in fact he wouldn't be seeded. Busta has played in the main draw five times and won just three sets in five losses. He did show some promise of improvement though with a run to the last four in Mallorca, losing to Daniil Medvedev after winning the first set. The two victories he had in that tournament were against players ranked in the 70s.

Sam Querrey has had a disappointing year and at one point, the former world number 11 was down to 67th in the rankings. The arrival of the grass court season has seen a change in his fortunes. The American made it to the last four in Stuttgart but then had an unlucky draw in Halle. His first match was against French player Ugo Humbert. He lost that but his opponent went on to win the title. Next up for Querrey was the Mallorca grass court championship and he got to the final where he was beaten by Daniil Medvedev. His record at Wimbledon is far superior to that of Busta. One semi-final and two runs to the Quarter finals is highly impressive. Back him to get the win here.
