The Sacramento Kings will welcome the Phoenix Suns in the penultimate fixture in the regular season for the two teams. Phoenix arrive for this game in seventh place in the West Standings and are 1.5 games clear of eighth-placed Sacramento. The Kings are in a rut at the moment. Their struggles have them destined to begin the post-season in the play-in. Mike Brown’s men have won just once in their last five games and are currently on a two-game skid. They were defeated 135-123 at home by the Pelicans last time out. The win allowed the Pels, who occupy the final automatic playoff spot, to move two games clear of the Kings. Sacramento now have two matches to ensure they at least remain in the 7-8 bracket for the play-in. At least there they have two attempts at getting into the playoffs proper. The Kings have defeated the Suns twice this season. They have in their last three matches averaged 111.7 points. Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter remain sidelined and will not be involved here.

The Suns earned a crucial victory last time out and will seek to build on this. Frank Vogel’s men defeated the Clippers 124-108 away from home to snap a two-match losing run. The win was also the perfect response to a disappointing showing against the same opponent just a day earlier at home. Phoenix have now compiled a 47-33 record and are just half a game from clawing back into the top six. Avoiding the play-in will however not only depend on them as they need the Pelicans, whom they trail, to falter. The Suns have a difficult end to the regular season as after this Sacramento trip, they conclude the season in Minnesota. But as they have won their last two matchups with the Kings, they will be confident of success here. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal combined for 87 points in the win over the Clippers. The Suns’ hopes depend highly on the three players playing as they did in LA. In their last three matches, the Suns have averaged 107 points.
