The Sacramento Kings will begin their 2024/25 NBA season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ahead of this match on Thursday, let’s assess the stats before offering a prediction. 

The Kings are coming into this game in torrid form. Mike Brown’s men lost all five of their pre-season matches, averaging 101.6 points a game. But as they are at home for their season opener, they are expected to turn up a notch or two. 

Last season, Sacramento defeated the Timberwolves twice in three matchups. Heading into this encounter, Orlando Robinson and Devin Carter have been ruled out.

The Timberwolves began their season with a 110-103 away loss to the Lakers. They outscored their hosts in three quarters but a 33-19 second-quarter loss ended up being their undoing. 

Chris Finch’s men have now had minutes under their legs and will be looking to snap a four-match losing run. Minnesota haven’t won since a 121-111 pre-season win over the Sixers. 

Last season’s Western Conference playoff finalists do not have any injury concerns coming into this match. Anthony Edwards, who had a breakout year last season, led the T-wolves in LA with 27 points.
