Russia vs Canada Prediction & Betting Tips - Davis Cup

Not since 2006 have Russia been the winners of the Davis Cup. They are in the semi-finals and take on Canada who have never reached a final. Russia only had Chile below them in the seedings for this tournament, while Canada are seeded 13th of the 18 teams. The Russians are without world number five Daniil Medvedev but they have been going well this week with Karen Kachanov and Andrey Rublev, particularly the latter. Rublev is ranked 23rd in the world but has won all of his singles matches this week. In the quarter final against Serbia, he only dropped three games against Filip Krajinovic. Russia won that tie 2-1 with the team of Rublev and Khachanov beating Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki in a third-set tie-break.

Canada beat Australia in their quarter final to reach this last four clash. They won Group F ahead of the USA and Italy and have been the surprise side of the tournament. Denis Shapovalov has continued the form that took him to the final of the Paris Masters but he did lose to Alex de Minaur in the quarter final. His team mate Vasek Pospisil has been the surprise package though. He's ranked 150th in the world but is unbeaten this week including wins over Fabio Fognini and Reilly Opelka. He has had a couple of wins of late in lesser tournaments but will have a tough examination of his form in this semi-final. Russia can be backed to get the win here.
