Another meeting is on the cards between RC Vannes and Edinburgh Rugby in Saturday’s Challenge Cup match. Here, RCV and the Gunners will be aiming to add some consistency to their game. Below is our prediction.

RC Vannes have found some solace in the Challenge Cup following a torrid season in the Top 14. Since earning promotion to the top tier, Vannes have only won three games and are rock bottom on the standings.

Jean-Noël Spitzer’s men opened their Challenge Cup campaign with a 22-19 loss to Black Lion. This was followed up by a 43-19 victory over Gloucester Rugby that leaves them second in the standings.

Edinburgh Rugby have registered inconsistent results this season but have steadied their ship following a challenging start. They currently rest at the summit of Group 3 in the Challenge Cup with an identical record to the hosts. 

Sean Everitt’s men opened their European season with a 15-10 loss to Gloucester Rugby. The visitors, however, bounced back with a 52-12 whitewash of French side Aviron Bayonnais. 

They possess the joint highest points (62) in the group, currently tied with their Saturday opponents. Edinburgh also has the meanest defense in the group having only soaked in 27 points.
