The late match on Sunday in the 2024 Indian Premier League will see the Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the Delhi Capitals. The hosts are in seventh place in the league standings, while the visitors are fifth. The Royal Challengers Bangalore looked to be set for an early exit from this season’s IPL after winning only one of their first eight games. However, since then, something has clearly clicked in the side, as they have come storming back with four wins on the trot and are now just two points off the playoff qualification places. On Thursday, they set an excellent 241/7 target against the Punjab Kings, with Virat Kohli once again leading from the front with 92 in just 47 balls, while Rajat Patidar added 55 in 23. Mohammed Siraj took 3/43 with the ball, supported by Swapnil Singh and Lockie Fe4rguson, who took two apiece to bowl out the Kings for just 181. RCB have all the momentum right now and look like a completely different side to the one that began the tournament. They are the favourites in this match. 

The battle for the final playoff spot is red-hot, with three teams currently tied on 12 points each heading into the final two games of the group stages. After a very slow start to the tournament, the Delhi Capitals have found some form of late and pulled themselves back into qualification contention with three wins in their last four games. Most recently, they overcame the second-placed Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs on Tuesday. In that match, Abishek Porel top-scored for the Capitals with 65(36), and Jake Fraser-McGurk added 50(20) as the team posted a solid 221/8 target. Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed each took two wickets to contain the Royals to 201/8, giving DC their sixth win of the competition. This is a crucial match for DC, but can they overcome the in-form Royal Challengers?
