These two players have between them won the Australian Open on 13 occasions. Novak Djokovic is the defending champion and looking to win a record eighth title. He has been in top form all month and is the worthy short-priced favourite to defeat Roger Federer. Djokovic has already led Serbia to the ATP Cup and was undefeated in singles matches all week. That included a win over Rafael Nadal in the final and he is on track to meet the world number one again at the weekend. Djokovic beat Milos Raonic in the quarter finals and has only dropped one set in this tournament. Djokovic is 26-23 up on his great rival but lost their most recent encounter at the 2019 ATP Tour finals. Before that though, he had won six out of seven matches.

Roger Federer didn't play any warm-up events in the lead up to this Australian Open, a title he has won six times. Two of those wins have come in the past three years but the clock is ticking and he turns 39 later this year. Only twice since his first title win here in 2004 has he failed to reach the last four. It's been a tough journey to the last four for Federer with five sets dropped in his last three rounds. He had to survive seven match points in his quarter final against Tenys Sandgren. Up against Djokovic it'll be a massie suprise if he can get a win here. Go for Djokovic to get the win here in straight sets.
