Roger Federer may be 38 now but he can still hand out a beating when he wants to. Federer looked to have a tough game against David Goffin in the last sixteen but won in straight sets losing only four games. He's only lost nine games in his last two matches in this tournament after a demolition job on Daniel Evans in the third round. With Novak Djokovic now out of the championship, he is the favourite to win the top half of the draw and reach another US Open final.

Federer takes on Grigor Dimitrov who is ranked 78th in the world. He has had a fairly straightforward route to this quarter final. Dimitrov was due to face the 12th seed Borna Coric in the second round but his opponent pulled out with an injury. Round three saw him beat a lucky loser in straight sets and then he defeated Australian Alex de Minaur in three sets. It's getting a lot tougher for him now though. Dimitrov is in his first US Open quarter final and it's only the fifth time he's ever made it to the last eight of a Grand Slam. He's lost all seven of his previous meetings with Roger Federer, the most recent being last year. Go for Federer to win this match in straight sets.
