This year’s European Open final will pit unseeded Roberto Bautista-Agut against fifth seed Jiri Lehecka. It will mark their fifth career meeting and the first as a championship match. Here’s the preview and our prediction for this tie.

Bautista-Agut has made it to his first tour final of the year. The 11-time tour champion will now seek to win his first title in two years. The Spaniard advanced to the final thanks to a 2-0 success over Hugo Gaston.

His seventh win on indoor hard courts improved his record to 35-26 and moved him up to 52nd in the live ranking. The 36-year-old has won three times against Lehecka with two of his wins being in their only indoor battles.

Jiri Lehecka is having his best tour season. He won his first tour title back in January in Adelaide and now has the chance for a second. The Czech star battled through three sets to end Marcos Giron’s campaign in the semi-finals.

It was his first 2-1 victory in the tournament after he had won his first three rounds in straight sets. Lehecka defeated Bautista-Agut 2-0 in his run to the Beijing quarter-finals three weeks ago.

The win snapped a three-match losing run in this fixture and he will now seek to start his own winning run. Reaching the final has moved him to 30th in the live ranking.
