Brandon Nakashima will be up against Roberto Bautista-Agut in the opening round of the Monte Carlo Masters. The two face off for the second time, with the winner scheduled to take on Casper Ruud next. We have a prediction for the match below. Bautista-Agut is coming from Bucharest, where he played as fifth seed. He suffered a second round defeat there, at the hands of Francisco Comesana. That marked his fourth loss in five matches as the Spaniard endures a tough start to the season. So far, he has compiled a 2-8 record and will be desperate for a better showing in the clay swing.

Nakashima, making his Monte Carlo debut, will be looking to add to Bautista-Agut’s woes. The American is seeking revenge for his 2-0 defeat to Bautista-Agut on grass in Halle last year. Arriving here off the back of a semi-final run in Houston, Nakashima will hope fatigue doesn’t come up as an issue. He fell in straight sets to Frances Tiafoe on Saturday and will be hoping to rise as he starts his second clay event for the year.
