Richard Gasquet vs Matteo Berrettini Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Swiss Open Gstaad

Matteo Berrettini is the second seed in Gstaad and takes on unseeded veteran Richard Gasquet in the second round. He's bidding to win his third successive tournament but has seen his ranking slip from sixth to 15th after losing his points from making the Wimbledon final last year. There were no ranking points this year anyway but Berrettini was disappointed at having to withdraw from the Grand Slam due to getting Covid-19. It's been a stop-start year for him after reaching the last four of the Australian Open and a quarter final on clay in Rio. An injury sustained in March kept him off the court until the grass court season and he won tournaments in Stuttgart and Queen's Club.

Richard Gasquet is the world number 65 but was as low as 86th in April. The 36-year-old reached the last 32 at Wimbledon and the last four of a Challenger event held in Lyon. His form on clay has been good with a run to the semi-finals in Geneva, where he beat Daniil Medvedev. The last eight was also reached in Marrakech. He's only had one previous match against Berrettini and that was in the US Open three years ago with Gasquet losing in four sets. This is a big week for him as he's losing points earned when getting to the final in Umag last year. His run to the last 16 here has him a 72nd in the live rankings So far this week he's beaten Roberto Carballes Baena in straight sets. This is a lot tougher though and Berrettini can be backed to win in straight sets.
