The winner will advance to the semifinals to play either Matteo Martineau or Lucas Pouille. Richard Gasquet is one win away from equaling his best-ever result here set during his debut two seasons ago. He has been in fine form in his return to Rennes and has won his two rounds without dropping a set. The 37-year-old defeated compatriot Manuel Guinard by the loss of eight games in the last round. Gasquet has struggled with his form in 2023. He has compiled a 23-24 record with four of his wins coming in seven outings on indoor hard courts. The former world number seven is currently ranked 65th in the live ranking.

Benjamin Bonzi is back in the ATP top 100 and is now placed at number 97th in the live ranking. This is after he defeated the unseeded Gauthier Onclin by the loss of three games in the last round. Bonzi, who is a former Rennes champion, is also yet to drop a set after two rounds. His two wins have allowed him to equal his record for the season at 18 wins and 18 defeats. Bonzi has won six of the 10 matches he has played on indoor hard courts this season. It is only on indoor and outdoor hard courts that Bonzi has won more than two matches this year. Bonzi last played in Rennes two seasons ago when he was crowned champion.
