20-year-old Alex de Minaur is climbing the rankings and is 28th in the latest list. By reaching the semi-finals of this tournament, he’s up to 22nd in the live rankings. The Australian has beaten three unseeded players so far but is yet to drop a set. He recently won a hard court tournament in Zhuhai, China with wins over Roberto Bautista Agut, Borna Coric and Andy Murray. Reilly Opelka started the week ranked 37th in the world but is six places higher in the live rankings after this run to the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors championship. He’s had a first round win over Cristian Garrin and then caused his first shock of the week in the second round. Opelka came from a set down to beat sixth seed David Goffin. He followed that up with a three-set victory over fourth seeded Roberto Bautista-Agut. Opelka is in his second semi-final in a couple of months after reaching the last four at the Japan Open.
