Week 21 in the Top 14 will see Toulon taking on Toulouse at Stade Velodrome on Saturday evening. The hosts are currently in fourth place in the league standings, while the visitors are second. Toulon will come into this match in great spirits after claiming a dominant 46-10 win away to Bayonne last time out. Paia'aua, Alainu'uese, Serin, and Fainga'anuku all ran in tries, while Jaminet added 22 points off the boot, including six penalties and four conversions. That victory took them to 51 points after 20 games, one behind Racing 92 in third place. They have also picked up seven bonus points in the competition and have the best points difference of any side in the Top 14, currently on 139. Their last home game ended in a 54-7 victory against Montpellier last month and marked their third home win in their last four games in this competition. The only team to beat them in that time was the Bordeaux Begles. The hosts lost the reverse fixture between these sides 25-17 but are the favourites in this one. 

Meanwhile, Toulouse are in the thick of the battle at the top of the table, currently on 60 points after 20 matches and just three points behind Stade Francais at the top of the standings. They have managed eight bonus points to date and have the second-best points difference in the competition of 128. Toulouse were involved in European Rugby Champions Cup action last weekend and booked their place in the semi-final of Europe’s premier competition with a 64-26 victory over Exeter at Stade Ernest-Wallon. In this competition, they beat Pau 31-29 last time out, though they did lose to Bordeaux Begles and Perpignan in their two preceding matches. While they have been very good this season, the defending champions have had mixed form in away matches. Over their last five games on the road, they have won only twice and were beaten at this venue by this opponent in each of their last three visits to the Stade Velodrome.
