The second Playoff game in the 2024 Indian Premier League will see the Rajasthan Royals taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday afternoon. The hosts finished the group stages in third place, while the visitors ended fourth. After an incredible start to the 2024 IPL, the Rajasthan Royals experienced a notable dip in form over the final knockings. They lost five of their last six games in the competition, while their final group-stage match was abandoned due to rain. After winning only one of their first eight league games, RCB came romping back with six wins in a row to claim the final playoff spot. Their final group-stage match was a top-four decider against Chennai Super Kings last week, who they beat by 27 runs, leapfrogging the five-time champions into fourth place owing to their better net run rate. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave their side an excellent start, scoring 54(39) and 47(29), respectively, before Yash Dayal took 2/42, helping the side to contain CSK to 191/7 in their 20 overs. With that knock, Kohli extended his lead atop the leading run-scorers list, now on 708 to date, 125 runs ahead of his closes rival.
