Match 19 of the 2024 Indian Premier League will see the Rajasthan Royals taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently second in the league standings, while the visitors are eighth. The Royals look like they mean business this season and seem determined to make a run at the title. They have only won the tournament once in their history, and that came in the first year of the IPL, back in 2008. The Royals have made an excellent start to the competition, accumulating the maximum six points in their first three games, and are one of only two sides that are still unbeaten. So far, the hosts have beaten the Super Giants by 20 runs, the Delhi Capitals by 12 runs, and most recently overcame the Mumbai Indians by six wickets and 27 balls to spare. That has given them a healthy net run rate (+1.249), with Riyan Parag leading the way, currently second in the race for the orange cap. However, their greatest strength has arguably been their bowling unit, which features Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, and Nandre Burger, all of whom are in the top ten rankings for the purple cap. 

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking forward to this match, having beaten this opponent home and away last season and are unbeaten in their last three meetings. However, their early form in this tournament has been far from impressive, as they have already suffered three defeats in four games, leaving them closer to the foot of the table than the playoff places. RCB kicked off their tournament with a defeat to the Super Kings before pulling off a four-wicket win over the Punjab Kings.  They then lost by seven wickets to the Knight Riders and came up 28 runs short against the Super Giants on Tuesday, leaving them on a net run-rate of -0.876. Despite their struggles, Virat Kohli has once again proven to be the bright spark in the side and is currently in possession of the orange cap with 203 runs in four innings.  RCB need a solid performance to avoid falling too far off the pace, but it will not be easy against the Royals' formidable bowling lineup.
