Stade Toulousain and Racing Metro are set for a Saturday match in the Top 14. Read on for our predcition. Table toppers Toulousain are having another imperious season as they look to claim a fourth title in five seasons.
If it goes to plan, this will be their first three-peat since the league became professional back in 1996. Last time out, Ugo Mola’s men recovered from defeat to thump USA Perpignan 41-9 to maintain their two-point lead.
The win was cemented via a dominant second-half display that saw Toulousain drop 29 points unanswered. Prior to the victory, however, the Red and Blacks suffered a 12-8 defeat to Aviron Bayonnais courtesy of a brace from Sireli Maqala.
A poor start to the season has Racing Metro eighth, with 22 points from the opening 10 games. Their form book reads five wins and as many defeats.
Only five points separate the Racingmen from the final crucial playoff slot that is currently being occupied by Clermont.
Their playoff hopes were dented last time out following a 40-24 defeat to Stade Francais Paris. This came despite Stade Francais’ JJ van der Mescht being sent off seven minutes from time.
The damage was, however, already done in the first half courtesy of four tries from Lester Etien. Against Stade Toulousain, Racing Metro will face an uphill battle, having lost their last six head-to-head encounters.
