Week 18 in the Top 14 will draw to a close, with Racing 92 taking on Toulon at Paris La Defense Arena on Sunday evening. The hosts are currently in sixth place in the standings, while the visitors are fifth. After leading the league table for a fair few weeks, Racing have struggled to keep up their good form and are now entering this match off the back of five consecutive defeats. The most recent of those losses came last week when they were comprehensively beaten on the road 21-5 by Bordeaux Begles. That result left them on 40 points after 17 games, though that could have been a lot worse had it not been for the eight bonus points they’ve earned to date. Meanwhile, Toulon have not been at their absolute best recently but will head into this fixture with some confidence having avoided a fourth straight defeat last week at home to Perpignan. Prior to that, they had suffered defeats to La Rochelle, Bordeaux Begles, Castres and Pau, in addition to losses agsint Munster and Glasgow Warriors in the European Rugby Champions Cup. They are now just one point better off than their opponents in this match, though they have earned three fewer bonus points. On the road, Toulon are on a four-match losing streak in this competition and have failed to win any of their last six across all competitions. The visitors beat this opponent 31-26 in their last meeting back in November and cannot be ruled out of this one.
