Quentin Halys vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Miami
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Fourth seeded Daniil Medvedev has no seeded players between him and the Miami Masters semi-finals. He takes on unseeded Quentin Halys in round four with possible last eight opponents being either Adrian Mannarino or qualifier Christopher Eubanks. Medvedev has already won three titles this year and began this tournament ranked fifth in the world. He'll have to be crowned champion on Sunday to climb above Casper Ruud into fourth place. The Russian has only had to step onto court once so far in this Miami Masters. He received a bye in the first round and then defeated Roberto Caballes Baena for the loss of just three games. Alex Molcan was his scheduled third round opponent but he withdrew with an injury. Medvedev has only lost once in his last 22 matches and that was to Carlos Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final. A couple more wins can take him up to second in the Live ATP Race.
Quentin Halys started this Miami Masters ranked 79th but was a career high 61st in January. The French player rose up the rankings after reaching the last eight of the Auckland Classic. He lost in the first round of the Australian Open being beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. Another last eight appearance was achieved in Montpellier but he then lost five main draw matches in a row. An early exit in Indian Wells saw him play the Phoenix Challenger Tour event, where he lost in the last four. He's had to win three matches to reach this stage. The second round saw him defeat 15th seeded Alex de Minaur. He had to come from behind to get that win and all three sets were decided by a tie-break. His three matches in this tournament have seen five tie-breaks played. His run to the fourth round hasn't produced a big rise in his ranking. He's actuallly fallen to 80th as points he won from a title win last April are about to be lost. Back Medvedev to win this in straight sets.
