Qinwen Zheng vs Maria Sakkari Prediction & Betting Tips - Zhengzhou Open

Third seed Maria Sakkari will seek to extend her advantage over the unseeded Qinwen Zheng on Wednesday in Zhengzhou. The two will battle in the second round with the winner playing either Anhelina Kalinina or Vera Zvonareva next. Qinwen Zheng has been in a rich vein of form lately and has won seven of her last 10 matches. She will hope this form lifts her to a first win over Sakkari in their third meeting. Zheng began her debut in Zhengzhou by defeating the qualifier Kateryna Volodko in straight sets in the first round. It was her 30th win of the season in 48 matches and her 19th on hard courts. The Chinese number one is now up one place to 23rd in the live ranking.

Maria Sakkari has won both previous meetings with Zheng which all happen to have been played on hard courts. The latest win came earlier this year in the first round in Qatar. Sakkari is having a strong season and has been in superb form in recent weeks. She has won nine of her last 11 matches with five of those coming in her title run in Guadalajara. The current world number six arrives to make her Zhengzhou debut after her quarterfinal exit in Beijing. Sakkari has won 38 of the 59 matches she has played this year with 26 of those coming on hard courts.
