Qinwen Zheng vs Karolina Muchova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Palermo Open

Top seed Qinwen Zheng will defend her Palermo Ladies Open title against second seed Karolina Muchova. Muchova defeated Irina-Camelia Begu in the semi-finals while Zheng got the better of fourth seed Diane Parry. Here’s a prediction for this championship match.

Chinese number one, Zheng’s Palermo title defence has been stellar so far. She has won all four of her matches without dropping a set. Having won the title last year as a second seed there’s little doubt she is favourite to emerge champion once again.

In her superb run this season, she registered a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Parry in the penultimate stage. That was her 10th win in 14 matches on clay. Placed seventh in the live ranking, Zheng has qualified for her second final of the year. She had earlier finished as runner-up at the Australian Open to produce her best result at a major.

Karolina Muchova is having quite the return to the tour after a lengthy time on the sidelines due to injury. The Czech player made her season debut last month to end a 10-month absence from competitive action.

She started her campaign in Eastbourne and after seven matches, has put up a superb 6-1 record. With this run, she will be confident of victory here considering she has defeated Zheng on clay before. Muchova won her only matchup with Zheng in three sets at the Madrid Open. 

The 27-year-old is debuting in Palermo and has three wins in her four matches without losing a set. Against Begu, the 2022 Palermo champion, Muchova was in sublime form, winning by the loss of just two games. Advancing to the final has moved her up six places and into 29th in the live ranking.
