Iga Swiatek has been in dominant form as she defends her Indian Wells title. The second seed faces eighth-seeded Qinwen Zheng in the quarter-final of this outdoor hard court tournament. Will the Pole reach the last four? Here’s our match prediction.

It’s been a strange year for Swiatek who is yet to reach a singles final. This tournament has seen the year-old win three matches and has only lost two games in each of them. Her most recent win came against Karolina Muchova, winning 6-1 6-1.

Six of her seven previous matches against Zheng have been won. Four of their meetings have been on this surface and Swiatek won them all with two victories coming last year.

Qinwen Zheng is playing in this WTA 1000 tournament for only the third time. This is the first occasion the Chinese player has made it past round two. The 22-year-old is up to eighth in the live rankings after reaching this quarter-final.

Wins have come against Victoria Azarenka, Lulu Sun and 18th-seed Marta Kostyuk with no sets being dropped. This is the first time Zheng has gotten past round two in a tournament this year with four of her seven matches won in 2025.
