Top seed Qinwen Zheng faces the sixth-seeded Diana Shnaider in the last four of the hard court Toray Pan Pacific Open. The winner faces either Katie Boulter or Sofia Kenin in Sunday's final. Read our match prediction below.

Qinwen Zheng is the world number seven in both the overall and WTA Live Race. The 22-year-old has reached at least the quarter-finals in four successive tournaments. A win here will take her into her second successive final after previously losing in Wuhan to Aryna Sabalenka.

This week has seen her beat Moyuka Uchijima and eighth seed Leylah Fernandez. Both matches have seen her win a set 6-0 but she had to go to a deciding one to get past Fernandez in her quarter-final.

Diana Shnaider is the world number 16 but up to a career-high 14th in the live rankings. The 20-year-old American has already won three WTA Tour titles this year, one of them on a hard court. 

Form had been a struggle in recent weeks with three successive losses but to high ranked players. It's gone better in Tokyo with a straight sets victory over Victorija Tomova. A walkover was received in the last eight when Sayaka Ishii withdrew.

We predict a straight sets win for Zheng.
