The Belarussian is a top favorite to bag this year’s title after beating Elise Mertens by straight sets in the fourth round. This assured victory granted her the fourth straight quarter-final appearance at this major.

She is now the first woman to reach four straight quarter-finals here after Serena Williams in 2016. The Belarussian, gunning for a second Grand Slam title this year, arrives for this game top in the live ranking. Right before getting to the US Open, she had claimed the Cincinnati title.
