Punjab Kings will look to make it three out of three as they come up against an inconsistent Rajasthan Royals side in match #18 of the IPL 2025 edition on Saturday. This match will be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, and our prediction is that the Kings and Royals will combine to hit at least 17 sixes.
Punjab have four points from two matches, while Rajasthan have two points from their three matches. The Kings started a new era under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy with wins over Gujarat Titans (11 runs) and Lucknow Super Giants (eight wickets), both away from home.
As they come to their home venue looking to extend their momentum, all eyes will be on Iyer (149 runs, SR 206.94) to continue his impressive start. Their bowling has some issues, but collectively they have done the job.
Rajasthan are coming off a win, a six-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati. They would hope to continue that momentum, as they lost two games before that, against Sunrisers Hyderabad (44 runs) and Kolkata Knight Riders (eight wickets).
Batting is yet to click for the Royals, with only Dhruv Jurel (106) and Rana (100) aggregating in triple figures. Bowling is a bigger concern, as the best economy rate is 9.50 runs per over.
