Tuesday’s double-header in the Indian Premier League will conclude with the Punjab Kings facing the Chennai Super Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. PBKS are fourth in the standings, while CSK are ninth. Let’s get into the match prediction.
The Punjab Kings made a very impressive start to their IPL campaign, notching up back-to-back wins over the Gujarat Titans by 11 runs before taking down the Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets.
However, their momentum was halted by the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, when their batting lineup, barring Nehal Wadhera, collapsed chasing 205/4, coming up 50 runs short of the target.
Still, Punjab have looked like one of the most improved sides this season. They have only won six matches in six of the last seven seasons of the IPL, but look set to do much better this year.
Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings have been very poor at the start of this season, losing each of their last three matches following a slender victory in the IPL’s El-Clasico in the opening round.
Notably, while Noor Ahmad has been excellent with the ball for CSK, their batting lineup has struggled to find form - no Super Kings player currently features in the top 10 run-scorers.
While CSK have won 16 to PBKS’s 14 wins all-time in the IPL, Punjab have won four of the last five encounters, including the most recent by seven wickets.
