The Portland Trail Blazers will play host to the Sacramento Kings at the Moda Center in the NBA on Thursday night. The Blazers (22-29) are 13th in the Western Conference while the Kings (25-25) are four places above them in ninth. Let’s get into the match prediction!

Something has clicked for the Portland Trail Blazers in recent weeks, as they racked up their ninth win in 10, beating the Indiana Pacers 112-89 on Tuesday night.

Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant combined for 42 points, while as a team, Portland held Indiana to just 38 points in the first half and exploded for 67 points in the second half to pull away. 

The Blazers are still in the bottom five in the scoring charts, averaging 109.1 points per game, but have worked their way into the mid-table on the defensive end, allowing 114.1 PPG (18th overall).

In contrast, the Sacramento Kings have been ice cold lately and were handed their fifth defeat in seven when they were thrashed 130-111 by the Orlando Magic last night. 

Despite shooting 50% from the field and making 10 of 27 from long range, Sacramento’s defence was far from impressive, allowing 42 points in the third quarter which saw them trailing by 30. 

The Kings are still a top-10 offence, averaging 116.3 PPG (eighth in the league), but they are bottom 10 at the other end, allowing 115.5 PPG (23rd in the NBA).
