The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a good start to the new NFL season. They top the AFC East with three wins out of three. They bid to make it four straight victories when hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. The Steelers had an 8-8 record last season and haven't made the play-offs since 2017. Their new season began with a 26-16 win at the New York Giants, their only match on the road this season. Two home wins have followed that opening victory, beginning with a 26-21 win over the Denver Broncos, They led that match by 14 points after the first two quarters, then saw Denver reduce the gap to just three points in the next quarter. A touchdown early in the final quarter boosted Pittsburgh who held on for the win. Life wasn't easier when hosting the Houston Texans and the Steelers found themselves 14-3 down early in the second quarter. They rallied with two touchdowns in that quarter before conceding another. Pittsburgh didn't concede any points in the second half though and ran out winners by seven points.

The Eagles top the NFC East but only have a 1-2-1 record. Their season began with a loss to Washington Football Team (such a glamorous name) and that was followed by a 37-19 defeat by the LA Rams. The search for a first win of the season didn't get anywhere in their third game of the season. The Eagles were held to a 23-23 draw by Cincinatti Bengals but then came their 25-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers. They still have injury problems though and that may well stop them getting a second successive win. Their opponents will be fresher after having a bye last week and can get that fourth consecutive victory.
