Phoenix Suns vs San Antonio Spurs Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
The 2-1 Phoenix Suns host the 1-2 San Antonio Spurs at the Footprint Center for this Western Conference clash in the NBA. The Suns are coming off a dominant display in their most recent appearance on Saturday, beating the Jazz 126-104. They now gear up for what will be the second of a three game homestand and the first of a back-to-back matchup with the Spurs. These two teams will face off again at this arena on Thursday. It is looking likely that Phoenix will be without two of their ‘big three’ yet again as Bradley Beal and Devin Booker look set to miss out. Beal has yet to make his Suns debut while Booker has missed the team’s previous two games after dropping 32 points on opening night. That leaves Kevin Durant to shoulder the offensive load who is coming off a 39 point performance against the Lakers an an efficient 26 points on 11 shots against the Jazz.
The Spurs were the lucky team to win the Victor Wembanyama lottery after finishing 22-60 the previous season. The French rookie is clearly still adapting to his new team and a new league but has given glimpses of his truly unique skill set and talents. Wembanyama is averaging 15.7 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks. However, he’s gone cold in his three-point shooting and is now 0-9 in the last two games. The Spurs were soundly beaten by the Clippers in their last appearance, falling 123-83 to the LA team in a 40-point blowout. The young team will now have to play their second and third road games of the season against one of the top contending teams to win the West.
