Phoenix Suns vs Memphis Grizzlies Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA Summer League
by Joseph King | in Basketball Predictions
The NBA Summer League heads into the third to final day with the 2-2 Memphis Grizzlies taking on the 1-3 Phoenix Suns. Memphis will be looking to continue on with the positive momentum after recording a 100-69 blowout victory over the Lakers in their last outing. The Grizzlies have some real talent on this Summer League squad including two first round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft. Jake LaRavia (19th pick) leads the team in scoring with 18.3 points per game and is coming off a 20 point, five rebound, two block performance in the win over the Lakers. David Roddy (23rd pick) has also been making a solid contribution with 13.8 points per game and was the team’s leading scorer with 21 points last game. In addition to the two first round picks, fan favorite Kenny Lofton is making waves once again at the NBA’s annual preseason event. Lofton is co-leading the team in points with 18.3 while also grabbing 6.5 boards per contest.
The Suns, on the other hand, don’t have near the depth that the Grizzlies have in their Summer League squad. The team that took to the court in their most recent 97-93 loss to the Jazz only featured one NBA Draft pick, 52nd overall selection Toumani Camara. The rest of the team is composed of undrafted, international players who likely won’t be making the team by the time the regular season starts. The 93 points scored by the Suns in their loss to the Jazz represents their highest points total of the Summer League so far. They’ve been struggling to generate consistent offense which has resulted in them having the lowest average points total. Three of Phoenix’s four games so far have seen them even fail to score more than 75 points. They’re likely going to be looking at another loss against this far more talented Memphis team.

Our Phoenix Suns vs Memphis Grizzlies Prediction
In LaRavia, Roddy and Lofton, Memphis has a massive talent advantage over the Phoenix Suns. Unless the coaches decide to pull or rest the aforementioned three players, it’s difficult to envision anything other than a convincing Grizzlies win. The blowout over the Lakers should give them confidence while the Suns are floundering after back-to-back losses. Back Memphis to get the victory here. Our Memphis Grizzlies vs Phoenix Suns prediction is for Memphis to win and cover the -3 point spread.
