Phoenix Suns vs Golden State Warriors Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Kennedy Kechula | in NBA Predictions
The Golden State Warriors will be away to the Phoenix Suns for their next NBA regular season fixture. They have struggled to get going this season and find themselves 11th in the West while the Suns are seventh. Phoenix Suns are in a rut at the moment and arrive here having lost four times in their last five outings. Three of the four have come against Western Conference opposition. Frank Vogel’s men are on a two-game skid and were defeated 114-106 last time out by the Kings. The Suns have battled with inconsistency all through the season and find themselves now just two games above .500. In their current slump, they have averaged 108.3 points a game which is 6.8 points fewer than their average for the season. This of course has partly been due to the absence of leading scorer Kevin Durant. The veteran forward, who is averaging 31 points and 5.7 assists a game, has missed the last two games with injury. He is also likely to be unavailable for the visit of his former team as he is listed as ‘Questionable’ for the game. Grayson Allen, who is averaging 12.3 points and has started all 19 games he has played, is also listed as ‘Questionable’. The Suns have won both meetings with the Warriors this season. A third win will see them take the season series for the second campaign in a row.
The Golden State Warriors are struggling. And even though we are a long way from April, questions about their playoff credentials have started. The Warriors have won multiple games in a row once and in their last 16 outings, have been victorious just five times. They are coming off an overtime 138-136 loss to the Kings. That defeat, their 12th of the season, kept them two games below .500. A positive note though heading into this match is that nine of their 10 victories have come against fellow Western Conference teams. Golden State don’t have a long list of injuries as compared to Phoenix and only one player is ruled out for this match. Gary Payton II hasn’t played since November due to a calf problem. Veteran guard Chris Paul is listed as ‘Questionable’ for this match due to illness. Golden State are averaging almost the same number of points as Phoenix but in the last three games, this has greatly improved. Steve Kerr’s men are shooting 44.6% from the field in their last three outings and are averaging 119.3 points in this stretch.
