The Phoenix Suns will square off against the Denver Nuggets at the Footprint Center on Friday night. In the 2023-24 NBA regular season standings in the Western Conference, the Suns are in fifth place, securing 11 victories and seven losses in 18 games, while the Nuggets sit in second spot with a record of 13 wins and six losses. The Suns' seven-game winning streak was halted in their most recent outing against the Toronto Raptors. Despite a team-high contribution of 30 points from Kevin Durant, the Suns suffered a 112-105 defeat. The hosts started this season with lofty aspirations, bolstered by the addition of Bradley Beal. The envisioned scenario involved Beal teaming up with Durant and Devin Booker to create a formidable offensive trio, but that did not materialize, primarily due to injuries. Still, Phoenix will try to keep their three-game home win streak alive in this one. With a 4-4 record at home, The Suns are averaging 116.4 PPG and are conceding 113.2, ranking 17th in the league. 

Denver is currently enjoying a three-game winning streak in the regular season, although they have secured victories in only four out of their ten road games this season. These sides also shared two wins each last season in their four regular season fixtures. Last time out, the Nuggets secured a 134-124 victory over the Rockets, with Nikola Jokic leading the team with an impressive 32 points. Had Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon not suffered injuries, we could have been seeing a much more dominant Nuggets side. Unfortunately, the injuries to the second and arguably third-best players on the team have somewhat disrupted their plans. The Nuggets boast an impressive 11-4 record against Western Conference opponents and are averaging 55.7 points per game in the paint, with Jokic leading the pack. Denver ranks 13th in the NBA for PPG, which averages 114.2, while the 109.7 PPG conceded leaves them seventh.
