The Phoenix Suns look to even up the series when they host the Denver Nuggets for game four of the Western Conference semi-finals in the 2023 NBA Playoffs. After racing out to a 2-0 series lead by winning both games on their home court, the top-seeded Nuggets would drop game three away from home by a score of 121-114 to put the series at 2-1. The fourth-seed Suns will now attempt to pull the series back to 2-2 before we head back to Denver for game five. To oddsmakers have the Nuggets as significant 1.31 favorites to earn a Conference Finals matchup against either the Lakers or the Warriors.

The Suns needed 47 points from Devin Booker and 39 points from Kevin Durant to squeeze by Denver with a seven-point win in game three. The lack of depth, the major criticism leveled at Phoenix after the trade to acquire the hall-of-fame Durant at the trade deadline, was on full display in the game three win. With Chris Paul forced to miss out, Booker and Durant were the only two players to score over double-digit points with the next highest scoring only seven points. The duo accounted for 75% of the Suns’ points and the Suns will likely need a greater contribution from the role players if they are to tie this series up in game four.

The Nuggets are playing tremendous basketball at the moment and are led by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. Jokic, who arguably deserved a third straight MVP this season, is playing at an incredible level and is averaging 31 points, 17.3 rebounds and 9.0 assists so far this series. With the return of Jamal Murray this playoffs run and Michael Porter Jr, Denver has all the weapons they need to make a serious title run. If the Nuggets can steal this game in the Grand Canyon State then they will have the chance to close out the series on their home court where they have been dominant all year.
