The Atlanta Hawks will be away to the Phoenix Suns looking for a second victory over them this season. They sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference coming into this match while the Suns are eighth in the West. The Suns got back to winning ways last time out. They defeated the Sixers 115-102 at home. Frank Vogel’s men have been inconsistent lately and have lost three times in their last six games. This form has seen them struggle to get back to the automatic playoff places. They are currently half a game from the top six. The win over the Sixers was their 40th of the season and marked the return to the NBA for Isaiah Thomas. The former Celtic guard is an exceptional scorer and will be a valuable addition to an already superb offence. Josh Okogie and Damion Lee remain sidelined and will not be involved here. The Hawks are battling to remain in the playoff picture in the East. They sit in the final play-in place and are 4.5 games clear of the Nets who are their closest challengers. They were hammered 136-105 last time out by the Lakers in LA. Injuries have hampered the team and for this game, six players have already been ruled out. Wesley Matthews could make it seven as he is questionable due to illness. The Hawks have seen their scoring take a dip recently. The absence of Trae Young, their leading scorer, has been a big blow. They have averaged 112.3 points over their last three games and are close to dropping out of the top five on offence.
