Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants Prediction & Betting Tips - NFL

The late evening game on Christmas Day pitches the 5-9 New York Giants into Philadelphia to take on the 10-4 Eagles. This looks like the perfect game for the Eagles to get the train back on the rails after three successive defeats. The losses against the 49ers and the Cowboys are excusable but their loss last week on the road to the Seahawks was more disappointing. They put up 30+ points in five of their first 11 games but 49 combined in the last three. Jalen Hurts has only thrown a single touchdown pass in that time and was picked twice by the Seahawks. He has only thrown three interceptions at home compared to nine on the road so back at Lincoln Financial Field has to be a big plus. Running back Boston Scott will have the two games against the Giants in the last three weeks ringed in his calendar. He has enjoyed ridiculous success against them in his career, with nine of his 16 career touchdowns coming against the Giants in just eight games. He could be set for a big day again taking on a team he has excelled when playing.

The Giants will enjoy the chance to play spoiler but they are going to have to step up on their recent efforts if they are to get a rare win against the Eagles. The Giants have two wins on the road this season at the 3-11 Arizona Cardinals and the 4-10 Washington Commanders. They had a three-game winning streak going before suffering a defeat at the New Orleans Saints last week. In seven of their 14 games, they have put up 10 points or less with one of the lowest-scoring offences in the NFL. Luckily for them, the Eagles are only ranked 21st in defence so they are not the stoutest but it is still hard to see the Giants putting up serious numbers given how toothless they have been this year. They have played three quarterbacks this season with little success from any of them and as such, they have just a single wide receiver with more than 425 yards on the season. Saquon Barkley leads the team in rushing with 797 yards and three touchdowns. The Bronx-born player has not had his best year but he did recently pass 5,000 career rushing yards.
