The Eagles will need to improve their week two defensive performance after giving up 35 points and 386 yards to Jared Goff and the Lions. It won’t be easy for Philadelphia in this one however, despite playing their season opener at the Lincoln Financial Field here. The Eagles were only 3-5 at home last season en route to a 9-8 season and a playoff berth but come into this season with a legitimate shot at winning the NFC East. On the other side, the Vikings will also be expecting to fare better than their 8-9 finish from last season. Minnesota has a talented roster and if Cousins can continue to deliver consistent performances we could see them challenge the Packers for the NFL North crown.

Eagles dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for 90 yards on 17 carries in week one, with only eight running backs seeing more carries, let alone quarterbacks. The Vikings will have spent the entire week planning how to contain Hurts breaking free from the pocket as the mobile QB presents a matchup nightmare for any opponent. On the other side, we’ve touched on the key players for the Vikings in quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Justin Jefferson. The Eagles struggled to get to Goff in the week one win, creating the fourth-worst pressure rate as the former Rams QB was allowed all the time in the world ot pick them apart. They’ll have to do a better job of getting to Cousins, who has proved throughout the years that he excels more than most when given time in the pocket.
