The 17-3 Philadelphia Eagles will take on the 17-2 Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday evening. It is a repeat of Super Bowl LVII where the Chiefs ran out 38-35 winners in Phoenix, another game played in a dome. Will this be similarly exciting for neutrals? Read on for our prediction.
No team has ever won three straight Super Bowl games, something that the Chiefs are looking to do here. It is also their fifth trip to the championship game in the last six seasons, a win here would confirm them as a dynasty.
It is the third Super Bowl appearance in eight years for the Eagles. They won Super Bowl LII over the New England Patriots in February 2018 before losing as mentioned to these Chiefs two years back.
On that occasion, it was the Eagles who were a single-point favourite and this time it is the Chiefs who have a very small edge in the market. This should be a game that is similarly close with two teams who look very well-matched on paper.

The Chiefs were 15-2 in the regular season, the losses coming at the Buffalo Bills and then at the Denver Broncos in the final week when they rested a huge number of their starters. Both playoff games have been at home, beating the Houston Texans 23-14 and the Buffalo Bills 32-29.
Only three teams gave up fewer points per game in the regular than the Chiefs and one of those was the Eagles! Both defences are going to face a stiffer test against the opposing offences than they have for the majority of the season.
The Eagles started the season 2-2 before finishing 14-3.
The Eagles got off to a slow start with defeats at home to the Atlanta Falcons in week two and at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week four. A loss at the Washington Commanders in week 16 was avenged with a thrashing 55-23 over the same team in the NFC Championship game.
Prior to that, it was a 22-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card game and a 28-22 beating of the Los Angeles Rams. They were the best team defensively in the league, giving up more than 30 yards fewer in total yards than any other team. That includes less than 175 passing yards per game.

The Chiefs run through their two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes. He had a career-low in both touchdowns and yards per game but a career-high in fourth-quarter comebacks and game-winning drives.
Skyy Moore, who scored the first touchdown of his career the last time these teams met in the Super Bowl is the only player on either squad currently listed as doubtful for the game. Most eyes will be on Travis Kelce and of course Taylor Swift, with a number of specials for those after that sort of thing.
Saquon Barkley produced a career-best in rushing yards and touchdowns this season
Only the Baltimore Ravens rushed for more yards over the course of the season than the Eagles. Saquon Barkley led the way with 2,005 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns, both the best of his career.
Jalen Hurts has not needed to do much damage through the air this season, although he still threw 21 touchdowns. He scored 18 rushing TDs to go along with the rushing of Barkley. A.J Brown and Davonta Smith combined for 15 TDs at wide receiver and over 1900 yards during the season to complement the run game.
