Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
An Eastern Conference rivalry in the NBA on Wednesday sees the Philadelphia 76ers hosting the Miami Heat at Wells Fargo Center. Both of these teams come into this matchup missing their best player which should make for an intriguing contest. The 76ers are currently fifth in the East standings with a 32-21 record while the Heat sit seventh with a mark of 29-25.
Philadelphia comes into this matchup following a brilliant 123-121 away win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, their second victory in a row. The Sixers were able to pull off the upset win despite being 11.5 underdogs heading into the game. Philly are on a much-needed winning streak after dropping four straight games which was part of a horrid run of only one victory in their last nine appearances. They’ve managed to find some consistency lately following the injury of reigning MVP Joel Embiid, who will miss the rest of the season. Philly can thank new addition Buddy Hield with the shooting guard providing the struggling Sixers with some instant offense by averaging 22.3 points per game on 52% shooting and 45% from three.
The Heat are coming off an impressive 123-97 away win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday marking the latest victory in what has been a solid recent stretch of form. This result is even more impressive when taking into account they got that win without Jimmy Butler as the 34-year-old missed out citing personal reasons. Erik Spoelstra’s team have now managed to win five of their last seven games overall. Central to their recent success has been their superb defensive displays. The win over Milwaukee was the second time that they had hold a team to under 100 points in the last week.
