Emma Raducanu faces Peyton Stearns in the first round of the outdoor hard court Korea Open. This is a WTA 500 tournament being played in Seoul. Can Raducanu repeat her recent win over Stearns? Read our match prediction.

Raducanu is 70th in the live rankings and 50th in the WTA Race. The British player is making her first appearance since losing to Sofia Kenin in the first round of the US Open. These two players met in the tournament played before that.

In Washington, Raducanu defeated Stearns in straight sets with the first going to a tie-break and 21 games being played overall. The problem that Raducanu must solve is how many tournaments she participates in.

This is only her third tournament since Wimbledon in early July. and more time on courts is needed if she's to climb back up the rankings. Only twice this year has she won two successive matches in a hard court tournament.

Peyton Stearns is 48th in the live rankings and five places higher in the WTA Race. While Raducanu has only played one tournament since they met in Washington, Stearns has played in four.

Her most recent tournament saw her get to the last 32 of the US Open and that included a win over Daria Kasatkina. Before that the quarter-finals were reached in both the Rogers Cup and Cleveland.
