Petra Kvitová vs Laura Siegemund Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Not since 2012 has Petra Kvitova reached the last four of the French Open. She has a great chance of getting through to the semi-final when taking on Laura Siegemund. Kvitova is the seventh seed for this tournament, the second highest seed left in the tournament. She has made it this far without dropping a single set, no seeded opponents have been met though. Her record at Roland Garros hasn't been the greatest. Her first appearance here was in 2008 when reaching the fourth round. The following years have seen her get past the fourth round just once until this promising run. It's been a steady year for Kvitova with a quarter final in Australia and getting to the fourth round in New York. Since winning Wimbledon six years ago, Kvitova has only reached one Grand Slam semi-final but a second looks likely here.

Laura Siegemund came into this tournament ranked 66th in the world. The German had a tough second round, losing the first set 6-1 to Julia Gorges before winning the next two sets dropping just four games. It was a similar story in the third round as she lost a first set tie-break to 13th seeded Petra Martic. Then she fought back again, this time losing three games in the next two sets. A straight sets win over Paula Badosa took her into her first Grand Slam quarter final. In fact, before this week, she'd never made it past the third round of one.  She's better known as a doubles player and won the Women's Doubles at the recent US Open. She's only had one previous match against Kvitova, that was five years ago and she lost it winning just two games. This is likely to be a bit closer than that, but Kvitova can get the win.
