Petra Kvitová vs Jelena Ostapenko Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Eastbourne International

Not since Justine Henin in 2007 has a player retained the Eastbourne women's title. Defending champion Jelena Ostapenko looks to equal that feat when taking on Petra Kvitova in the 2022 final. Ostapenko is the eight seed for this tournament (six higher than her opponent) and the world number 14 (17th in the live rankings).  Ostapenko is chasing her second title of the year having won in Dubai four months ago. The following week, she beat two top ten ranked players on her way to the semi-final in Doha but this is her first time past the last 16 since thens. February was her golden month as she also got to the last four in St Petersburg. Back in Eastbourne her form has improved and the former Wimbledon semi-finalist has had wins over Ajla Tomljanovic (who beat her at Wimbledon last year), 11th seed Madison Keys, Anhelina Kalinina and Camila Giorgi without dropping a set. 

Petra Kvitova has not had the best of years to date but has found some form this week. The Czech has won Wimbledon on two occasions, the last time being in 2014. Since then, she's only reached the fourth round once and the past year has seen her ranking slip. Kvitova was 12th this time last year but started this week in 31st place. This is her second final in Eastbourne, the previous one being in 2011. Her first grass court event of the year saw the Czech lose to Beatriz Haddad Maia who went on to win the title. Friday saw Kvitova get revenge for that loss. It followed wins over Donna Vekic, Katie Boulter and Harriet Dart. This is her ninth match against Ostapenko and the current score is 4-4. Ostapenko has won two of the last three. Back her to win this and successfully defend her title.
