Fifth seed Holger Rune and the unseeded Pedro Martinez, will meet in the second round of the Rotterdam Open. The winner of their first career meeting will play Carlos Alcaraz, Felix Auger-Aliassime or Andrea Vavassori in the quarter-finals. Below is our prediction for this match.

Martinez has won his last two matches. He arrived in Rotterdam after winning his sole Davis Cup tie in straight sets. He also won his opening-round tie here without dropping a set to compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut.

The Spaniard has now won four times in seven outings this season and moved up three places to 41st in the live ranking. Martinez isn’t a strong indoor hardcourt player and in his career, has lost 21 of 38 matches.

Holger Rune is a much more accomplished indoors player. The Dane has registered his second-most number of victories indoors, compiling a 70-27 record.
