Seventh seed Pedro Martinez squares off with lucky loser Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the first round of the 2025 Rio Open. This marks their first meeting at a tour event and the winner will set up a second-round showdown with Dusan Lajovic or Damir Dzumhur. Below is our prediction for this match.

Martinez has never lost a first-round tie in Rio in three appearances in the main draw. He reached the quarter-finals in 2020. On his return last season, however, he was eliminated in the qualifying rounds.
