Pedro Martinez vs Christian Garin Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cordoba

Eighth seed Pedro Martinez and world number 103 Cristian Garin will face off against each other for the fifth time in their careers on Tuesday in the first round of the Cordoba Open. Garin leads in the head-to-head record with three wins though Martinez won the last match between the two in Miami in 2022. Two of the matches between the two have come at the Grand Slams in Melbourne and at the All England Club. Martinez won the Chile Open in 2022 to claim his first ATP Tour title. That triumph saw him break into the world’s top 50 for the first time. He has played only four Singles matches in 2023 with three of them being in Pune India where he reached the quarter-finals. In his two appearances in Cordoba, Martinez has progressed past the first round in both and did so in his debut in 2020 as a qualifier.

Cristian Garin has been a bit more active than Martinez in 2023 and has played seven matches. He reached the semi-finals in Noumea where after winning the first set, lost the match 2-1 to eventual tournament winner Raul Brancaccio. Garin was eliminated in the first round at the Australian Open by Sebastian Korda. After holding Korda to just one game in the second set to tie the match at 1-1, the Chilean was unable to keep up with the American and won just five games in the next two sets to lose 3-1. He has moved up two places in the live ranking to 101. Garin won the second edition of the Cordoba Open in 2020, beating Diego Schwartzman in the final. A wrist injury left him unable to defend his title in 2021 and on his return last year, he was eliminated in his first match after receiving a bye to the second round. Garin has won five ATP titles in total all of which have been on clay. The winner in this will proceed to face either Joao Sousa or Tomas Etcheverry in the second round.
