Lorenzo Sonego may be only the tenth seed but he's the highest one remaining in the Winston Salem Open. The Italian takes on 15th seed Pavel Kotov in the quarter-final of this hard court tournament. Read on to discover our match prediction.

The world number 58 is up four places in the live list thanks to this run to the last eight in Winston Salem. It's a welcome return to form just before the US Open Grand Slam. Last week saw him lose in the first qualifying round of the Cincinnati Masters.

This is his first hard court quarter-final of the year. Before this week he hadn't won two successive matches in an ATP Tour hard court event. To get to the last eight, he's only had to go on court once. Only five games were lost in his opening win over Dominic Stricker.

That set up a third round match against Juncheng Shang but his opponent withdrew from the match. The winner of this quarter-final will face either 16th seed Rinky Hijikata or unseeded David Goffin for a place in the final.

Pavel Kotov was 63rd in the latest ranking list. He has climbed three places in the live rankings after winning two matches this week. It's not been an easy route for him with both matches going to a final set. Round two saw him defeat Alexandre Muller, dropping the middle one.

He faced lucky loser Zachary Svajda in the third round and had to come from behind to get the win. Kotov is also enjoying improved form as he had lost his last three matches before playing in this tournament and been beaten in his last four hard court matches.
