Paula Badosa vs Diana Shnaider Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Bad Homburg Open

World number 113 Paola Badosa will take on world number 47 Diana Shnaider in the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg Open. This will the fourth meeting between these two this year. The winner will then next play either Caroline Wozniacki, Veronika Kudermetova, Peyton Stearns or Emma Navarro.

Paula Badosa is making her grass debut this season in Bad Homburg. Though she has won both her matches, she has had mixed performances. She began the tournament with a comfortable straight-set victory over Arantxa Rus.

In round two, this wasn’t the case and she was forced to come from a set down and win a decider by Jule Niemier. The Spaniard, who is making her debut in this event, has now won seven of his last nine fixtures. Coupling this form with her dominance over Shnaider, she will be confident of victory. Badosa, who is now up to 92nd in the live ranking, has won three of four encounters with Shnaider. She won their most recent matchup last month in Rome in three sets.

Diana Shnaider defeated Badosa by way of retirement in Hua Hin back in January. This was in the second round and she would go on to win the title and record her first tour success.

The young Russian will hope victory here propels her to a similar trajectory. Shnaider has been in fine form in Bad Homburg where she is also making her debut and has won both her matches in straight sets.

Crowd favourite and former world number one Angelique Kerber fell in the first round and then it was Dayana Yastremska’s turn. Yastremska fell by the loss of four games and this was Shnaider’s fourth win on grass in six outings. With a 26-13 record, Shnaider has moved up five places to 42nd in the live ranking which is a new career high.
