It's been a difficult week for Panathinaikos in the Euroleague. They have lost two games in a row and slipped to ninth in the table. It won't get any easier for them in their next game as they host league leaders Real Madrid. The Greeks come into this match with a 6-6 season record. They had won four games in a row before their dip in form. Last Thursday saw them lose take a two point lead into the final quarter at Partizan but the hosts fought back to take the match into over time and won that by five points. Tuesday saw another loss for Panathinaikos, going down 71-68 at Anadolu Efes. After losing the first quarter by eight points, the away side went into the final quarter ahead by two but lost that by five to go down to a second successive loss. Home form has seen Panathinaikos win five of their seven games in Euroleague this season with the last four all being won. 

Real Madrid come into this game as Euroleague leaders. Not long after Panathinaikos lost their fixture on Tuesday, Real Madrid took to the court away at Olympiacos. They won that match 77-71 to take their season record to 11-1. They now have two more wins than second placed Barcelona (from a game more) and four more than Monaco and Virtus Bologna (both with a game in hand). That was a welcome result after they'd lost their previous Euroleague fixture. The Spaniards had won their first ten matches of the season before being beaten in Fenerbahce by a single point after over time. That was a disappointing result considering they won the first quarter by 13 points. They lead the Spanish ACB by four points having won 11 of their 12 games. We go for Real to get an away win here.
